Keep the Dipstick in Your Hand or the Aircraft
When refuelling, the dipstick should only ever be in your hand or back in the aircraft – never on a wing, cowling or fuel trailer.

Dipsticks are sometimes left behind at other aerodromes, or placed on top of wings, cowlings or fuel trailers – only to be forgotten or to fall off once the aircraft moves.
Dipsticks are essential equipment, and we need them back with the aircraft every time. When refuelling, the dipstick should only ever be in one of two places: in your hand, or back in the aircraft. Leaving it on a fuel trailer or aircraft surface makes it very easy to miss, especially when things get busy.
Thanks for keeping this in mind next time you're refuelling.
