A VFR flight plan isn't just paperwork – it's a key safety tool that makes sure someone knows where you're going and when you're due back, and can raise the alarm if things don't go as planned.
Under Kāpiti Aero Club SOPs, any flight beyond 25 NM requires a flight plan to be submitted. This applies to all members and instructors.
Even on good-weather days, unexpected delays, weather changes or diversions can happen – and having a flight plan in place provides an essential safety net.
