Secure Pens, Paper and Checklists Before Flight
Loose pens, paper and checklists can shift in turbulence or an emergency – check the cockpit properly and secure anything that doesn't need to be loose.

Loose items such as pens, paper and checklists are sometimes left unsecured in the aircraft and missed during the pre-flight.
Remember, a full pre-flight has three parts: the exterior, the interior and the documents. Most people are thorough with the outside checks, but the interior is just as important. Loose items in the cockpit can shift in flight and become a hazard, especially in turbulence or an emergency.
On your next pre-flight, do a proper check of the cockpit and secure anything that doesn't need to be loose.
